Why Tripartite? Mindfulness arises only when three interdependent components of Wise Worldview, Wise Emotions and Wise Present Remembrance come together. 'Wise' or 'Right' is the closest English equivalent of a Pali word samma. Early Western research on mindfulness studied only the last component of the tripartite practice for the want of scientific acceptability. Thus, currently frenzied research on "mindfulness" is not enough and do not entirely represent the original teachings of Buddhist psychology.
